Sochi 2014 Olimpics Medals

February 13th, 2014 by SportInfo

Whether you fancy winter sports on the slopes or in the skating rink, the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi have plenty to offer at the moment. Now you know, Norway hold on to its lead in the overall medal count. So the five leaders are Norway, Canada, Netherlands, Russia. For full results and information, visit

The basis for the design of the medals is the main Sochi 2014 brand concept – the contrasts of our incredible country in which Europe meets Asia, pristine nature and megacities coexist, and innovation blends with a rich cultural heritage. The sun’s golden rays deflected through a prism of snowy mountain tops and the warm sea and frosty ice living side-by-side are embodied in the medals. These contrasts in Russia’s natural landscape will be an eternal souvenir for the champions and will be a reminder of the unforgettable Games in Sochi.

The medals of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games have been given a bright and original design. The medals have been engraved with the signature “Patchwork Quilt” of the Games – a mosaic of national designs from the various cultures and ethnicities of the Russian Federation. The unusual combination of glass and metal gives the artifact a lightness and unique beauty.

3500 athletes will compete for the Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic medals.

April 8th, 2013 by SportInfo

“Something happened with the brakes,” Busch said. “The pedal felt spongy going into three and four and I gave it a courtesy pump and it came to. I go down the front straightaway and gave it another courtesy pump and it went straight to the floor. Something failed with it and I just turned it to the right and fenced it instead of running head on into the fence.”

Garrett McNamara World Record

February 2nd, 2013 by SportInfo

The Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara has broken his own world record he made in 2011 for the new one catching around 100ft off largest wave at the coast of Nazaré, Portugal.

“Cotty and I surfed two big waves of about 60ft and then, when Garrett was ready came a canyon wave of over 90ft. The jet ski was the best place to see him riding the biggest wave I’ve ever seen. It was amazing. Most people would be scared but Garrett was controlling everything in the critical part of the wave. It was an inspiring ride by an inspiring surfer.”

Also watch this fantastic flying among gigantic waves on the video! It’s just incredible!
