Slovenia Events

Any vacation is like a love – anticipated with pleasure, experienced with wonderful exploration, and remembered with nostalgia. A good vacation is over when you begin to plan the next one, right?:-). So, now I’ve started to plan my next vacation to Slovenia where I’ve been alredy this summer. Nestled between Austria and Italy, Slovenia is a superb hiking destination, from the ridgetop trails that cross the snow-capped Julian Alps to the outrageously picturesque Logarska Dolina, a stunning glacier-carved valley flanked by the sheer peaks of the Kamniske-Savinja Alps.

We’ve seen famous Postojna Caves, followed riverside trails through dramatic canyons, hiked along mountain-ringed lakes, exploring Slovenia’s traditional villages and historic towns. By the way, in September and October (18.9. – 3.10.2010) Hiking Festival 2010, So?a Valley is organised. The Festival includes 14 guided hiking tours, exhibitions and lectures.

I plan to visit this wonderful land again but for winter sports to enjoy with the magical scenery and to take the opportunity for a winter break of complete rest and relaxation. There are several dozen fully maintained ski centres stretched out across the corner of the Alps that offer a full dose of winter enjoyment.

Good travel for me is not only exploring new destinations that is no doubt great thing but the time for diferent activities that I love so much – hiking, treking, fishing lake boat charters and more to say nothing about meetings with interesting people from around the world, dinner and party cruises and magical overnight excursions. The universe is filled with wonder and magical things!
